The editors of Greatcoat, being of relatively sound mind and possessed of radically different literary tastes, do hereby relinquish any claim to rational thought, free time, and dreams of profit; in short, we have no illusions about what makes a literary journal successful. We pledge to read your work with an open mind, without bias or prejudgment, with an eye toward the original, the brilliant, the piece that won't be ignored but that keeps returning to us as we eat, sleep, and breathe. Impress us with your words, and not your name. To this end, we read all unsolicited submissions as blindly as possible, with less regard for past literary achievements than for the work at hand. Greatcoat will be a print-only biannual publication, perfect-bound and professionally printed (dimensions to be determined), published in the Spring and Fall.
